Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for sharing these photos. There are so many comments I want to make....
In the second photo is that the container that you got at the Christmas Fair in London last year? I think you sent me the website for it and you said at the time how versatile it would be. And it certainly is with the Christmas balls alongside the wax beads. Very attractive!
Your little tree with the straw and wooden ornaments has truly stood the test of time. I have seen it in your room at home, in the flat at Redfern and now in Houston. It was always a pretty little tree and it looks beautiful the way you have decorated and situated it.
Where did you get those jolly little wooden soldier boys? I have never seen them before.
Your confectionary looks absolutely delectable as usual. Did the neighbours enjoy it? And did you? Andrew said to compliment you on the perfection of your Apricot Tarnations! Also where did you get those glorious plates? The blue and brown are specially exquisite. Did the blue one come from that little antique shop in the Eastern suburbs with a cup and saucer?
Now to the tablecloth ... I am so thrilled that it looks so wonderful on your table. It couldn't have been a better choice - it really enhances all your table ware, not to mention the bon bons which go with it perfectly. Did you buy them before you opened he cloth or did you take a peek first to match them. Your Christmas table looks so very warm, inviting and delightful! Well Done!
The book on Europe wasn't under any chair in particular; it's just too tall to fit in any of our current bookshelves, and I didn't want it on the table! I thought it looked nice there :)
Yes, the candle container is the one I got at the Country Living Christmas Fair in Islington, when I went with Sharon last year... the first time I've used it! I have lots of plans for other things to put in it so it can change with the seasons :)
Yes, I loved having the little tree - it was nice to have a real one for the main one (it cost just $5!!), but I was glad to have a place for the other, and I loved how it looked there :)
The little soldier boys are part of a skittle set - so there are ten, and a little wooden ball - which I got at the Hackney Museum a couple of years ago... they had all sorts of lovely wooden toys, and they cost next to nothing :) I loved their little smiling faces :)
I hope the neighbours enjoyed the sweets; I haven't had any feedback! People here certainly liked them, when I served them up to visitors... and thank you, Andrew; I thought my Coffee McGubbins were also quite good ;) Yes, the blue plate came as a set from the Frolicking Frog, years and years ago; the maroon and gold one is one of three which I got for a couple of dollars at the Balmain Market when I was there with Angela, also ages ago. The pottery one is the one I got on Iona, and the others are Maxwell and Williams.
And yes, the tablecloth couldn't have been better! No, we didn't look before buying the crackers - that they suited so well was just a happy coincidence! I loved how that table looked; everything worked together perfectly; thank you again :)

Mmm. Very attractive. But did I spy a book about Europe under the chair? The question is, whose chair was it? : )
Too many delicious things; fires, paper, chocolate... Ohh!
