This looks so homely, delicious and inviting! HOW I wish that I could come and have breakfast with you one Sunday morning... I will echo Sharon with a ... *sigh*.....
mama - yes, it would be great to have you guys over for breakfast... and dinner... and just to say hello :( hopefully you'll be back with us soon :) the chairs aren't new, they're just borrowed from Dave's parents... they're outdoor ones, and don't fit under the table! so it's a bit of a juggle to keep everything in order right now ;)
julez - I think thick fluffy pancakes are the American standard, while the European standard is more of a crepe... Dave had to be won over, but likes the thin sort best now; I sometimes add a teaspoon of baking soda so that they're JUST the way he likes them (which is ever-so-slightly thicker than a crepe) ;) the plates are our stand-bys - I have others on their way from Aus, but Dave had those, and they're nice, and virtually unbreakable, so we're using them! but we don't have a full set, so they'll go back in the cupboard when the others arrive...
anita - I love maple syrup, but I also like chopped strawberries, and blueberries, with a drizzle of vanilla yoghurt... and we've found some FABULOUS toppings from a place called Blackberry Patch (www.blackberrypatch.com) - the blueberry one is excellent, and we have blackberry waiting in the wings ;) I love lemon and sugar too, though, and someitmes jam...
Hi Kathryn! I wandered onto your blog from Tom and Anita's ... Tom used to make those pancakes for our whole family for brunch every Saturday of our growing up! Lemon and icing sugar (or 'powdered sugar', since you and I are both in the USofA!) is def. my fav. topping!
Enjoy America - tell me if there's anything you need translated from Australian/English into American or back ... I've had many a confused supermarket interaction in my 8 years here!!
i love the stopping at nothing story in your sidebar!

*sigh* Wonder why God didn't give us at least three Sunday mornings in a week?

Your pancakes look super delicious! Not big, thick and doughy like the ones I always seem to see.
Also, just wanted to add that I have the same plates that you have! And I miss your posts on VJ.
BTW I notice you have new chairs - where did they come from? Very nice!
yum
our choice of topping is maple syrup or lemon and sugar. what is your favourite?

I just stumbled upon your blog and I love all the pictures...
Was tidying up some bookmarks and ended up here, congratulations to both of you.
I will have mine with creamy thick yoghurt (greek style) and passionfruit please!
